I chose to use this site for a variety of reasons. For example, in the textbook , the man Nehru is described, however, not that much detail is given to the reader. In order for the students to have a better understanding as to who Nehru was and what he did, I thought they should be given more back ground information on him such as the information on this site. By knowing this information, the students will be able to better understand why he made some decisions and how many people may have felt about theses decisions. In addition to giving background information about Nehru's political life, this site also gives information on Nehru's social life such as his wife and his friends. By including this information in the site, the reader is able to better understand who Nehru was a s a person opposed to a political figure. Lastly, this site goes over some of the struggles that Nehru was faced with during his term as Prime Minister. By including these struggles that Nehru had to endure, the reader is able to understand why he may have made decisions and acted in manners that he did.
This article provides background on the rise of Indian economy, which helps with my section of the textbook. I also chose to use it because of the variety of sections within my topic that it goes over throughout the article. The article starts by talking about India during and post-independence and the struggles they went through. It also touches on devaluation and some consequences, before ending with a glimpse of India today. The article really goes in depth and explains the different points of Indian economy and what got them to where they are now. Also, the information can help me expand on what is in the textbook. A conclusion that I am drawing is that India's economy has flourished, but has had many ups and downs along the way. Showing all the history, this article is both helpful and informative to my topic.

Providing insight on India and the road ahead, this video clip serves as additional information on my topic. It summarizes how the Indian economy has grown and what still needs to be done. Also, it goes into talking about the steps of the economic growth and how it has affected India's population and working class. I really like the opening of this video because it gives a real sense as to how India's population works and lives. The addition of information by multiple professors helped to give a more realistic and statistical view of the situation. In the textbook it covers the basic economic and industrial growth, although this article goes way beyond that. From this video clip, I can conclude that the Indian economy has come a long way and it creates a domino effect with the working class. Watching the clip gives me more understanding and information on the economic ups and downs of India.
